Shift Time: 10:30 am - 9 pm

Working Hours: 40 hrs/week, 10 hours/shift

Note:- The client is not accepting candidates who has a permanent address within 50 miles of the work location.

 

Job Overview:

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical and procedural interventions. The PACU RN is responsible for closely monitoring patients, managing pain, identifying complications, and ensuring a safe transition to the next level of care. The role requires strong critical thinking skills, rapid assessment abilities, and effective collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, monitor, and care for patients recovering from general, regional, and conscious sedation.
  • Perform comprehensive post-anesthesia assessments and identify changes in patient condition.
  • Monitor vital signs, airway patency, neurological status, and pain levels.
  • Administer prescribed medications, IV fluids, blood products, and pain management therapies.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to post-operative complications and medical emergencies.
  • Maintain airway management and provide oxygen therapy as needed.
  • Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of recent RN Post Anesthesia Care experience
  • GA or compact State RN License
  • BLS Certification (AHA)
  • ACLS Certification (AHA)
