Description
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required (3+ years preferred).
- First-time travelers are welcome, but must have experience in a large, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit.
- Experience in a facility with 300+ births per month is required.
- Active BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications (required).
Schedule & Unit Requirements:
- Comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit.
- Experience managing double labor assignments, as they are a daily occurrence.
- Comfortable with a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a unit averaging 20 births per day, 30–40 admissions, and 40 patient visits daily.
- Available to work 12-hour day shifts.
- Willing to work every other weekend (minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule).
- Must be willing to float to the High-Risk OB/Special Maternity Care Unit as needed.
- May be required to precept and orient new staff.
