Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Mount Clemens, MI
Shift: Days and Nights | 12-hour shifts | 36 hours/week

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care continuum. The RN will collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and care for patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn transition.
• Perform maternal and fetal assessments, including continuous fetal heart rate monitoring.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments as ordered.
• Assist physicians during vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and obstetric emergencies.
• Provide immediate newborn care, including stabilization and routine assessments.
• Educate patients and families on labor, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge instructions.
• Recognize and respond promptly to maternal or neonatal complications.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in emergency response situations and maintain current clinical competencies.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery (Level I).
• Active Michigan RN License
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, STABLE, and AWHONN certifications.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work every other weekend and adapt to a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.
