Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry

Location: North Carolina
Shift: Nights (3 × 12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Every other weekend required
 

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment. The Telemetry RN provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring, including those recovering from cardiac events, cardiac surgery, and other acute medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong telemetry skills, the ability to recognize and respond to cardiac rhythm changes, and experience floating within their specialty as needed.
 

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to telemetry patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and promptly report significant changes.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Float within specialty/skill set as required by facility needs.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Telemetry RN experience.
  • Active North Carolina RN License or Compact RN License.
  • Previous travel experience preferred.
  • Ability to float within specialty.

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Required License

  • Active North Carolina RN License or Compact RN License

Schedule

  • 3 × 12-hour Night Shifts
  • Every other weekend required

Additional Information

  • 13-week contract
  • No local candidates within an 80-mile radius
  • Float pool assignment; must be willing to float within specialty/skill set.
