Travel RN β Emergency Department (ED) | Day Shift
Location: Charlotte, NC
Shift: 12-Hour Days (0700β1900) | 36 Hours/Week
Duration: Standard Travel Contract
Setting: 337-Bed Community Hospital (Chest Pain & Stroke Center)

π Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a fast-paced travel assignment in Charlotte, NC. This facility sees an average daily census of 145 patients, ranging from pediatric to geriatric care. The ideal candidate thrives in a busy environment, possesses a broad general ED skillset, and is highly adaptable.
π Position Requirements (Strictly Enforced)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent, dedicated Emergency Department experience.
- Traveler Status: No first-time travelers. Must have prior travel contract experience.
- Radius Rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50+ miles away from the facility.
- Licensure: Active North Carolina or Compact RN License.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI.
- TNCC is highly preferred.
- Scheduling: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation. Must be willing to work 75% of holidays. No on-call requirements.
πͺ Required Skills & Patient Care
- Ratios: 1:3 to 1:4 depending on acuity.
- Clinical Skillset: Expert cardiac rhythm interpretation, management of critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation.
- Patient Population: General ED population (respiratory illness, stroke, acute MI, uncontrollable diabetes, minor trauma, and behavioral health stabilization). Note: This is a non-trauma facility; major traumas are stabilized and transferred out.
π Floating & Regional Flexibility
- This position requires regional flexibility. Nurses will be required to float to other facilities within Region 2 based on regional census needs.
- Please only apply if you are fully agreeable to regional floating. Mid-shift transit time between facilities is fully compensated.
