Schedule
- Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 3x12-hour shifts
- 36 hours/week
- Minimum 2 Fridays and 2 Mondays required per 6-week schedule period
Position Overview
The OB Inpatient RN provides direct nursing care to obstetric patients and newborns, managing a designated patient caseload through the nursing process. This role requires strong OB clinical competency, infant care expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and throughout the shift
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
- Provide infant care in accordance with unit standards and competencies
- Administer medications per physician orders following established protocols
- Document all nursing care accurately in the EMR
- Complete all required unit competencies
- Monitor and respond to changes in maternal and neonatal patient status
- Maintain patient and employee safety by identifying and correcting safety hazards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality patient care
- Offer constructive feedback to support peer professional development
- Fulfill all departmental competency requirements

- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (American Heart Association)

- English (Read, Write, Speak)
