Position: Registered Nurse – Step Down
Location: Golden, CO
Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract + possible extensions
Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Nights Shift 3x12 Hours
Schedule: 3 days/week
Expected Hours: 36 hours per week
Local candidates accepted as well, pay for local candidates: $55 - $60/hr
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Step Down / Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This 32-bed unit cares for progressive care and intermediate acuity patients, including those requiring cardiac monitoring, specialized treatments, and management of various IV drips. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to step-down and intermediate care patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions, cardiac rhythms, and response to treatments.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments.
- Manage patients requiring continuous monitoring and higher-acuity care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1+ year of experience as a RN - Stepdown/PCU/IMC
- Active Colorado or Compact state RN License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- ACLS Certification.
