🔥 PREMIUM NICU RESPIRATORY THERAPIST CONTRACT – AKRON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
First Connect Health is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) for an immediate 12-week night-shift assignment at Akron Children's Hospital in Akron, Ohio. This premier facility provides care for complex neonatal and pediatric patient tracks. If you are an experienced critical care therapist with strong ventilator management skills looking for a transparent agency experience and elite take-home pay, this is your next assignment!
Please note: This facility requires previous travel experience and an active Ohio license in hand at submission.
💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE
- Weekly Gross: $2,506.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,246.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $35.00/hr
- Overtime Rate: $52.5.00/hr (Billable after 40 hours)
- Based on 36 Regular Hours weekly (3x12 Shifts).
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 - 07:00). No block scheduling available.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend rotation.
- EMR System: Epic charting required.
- Unit Layout & Patient Ratios: Standard care setting ratio is 1:6. Daily census averages 7 in the NICU and 5 in the PICU.
- Patient Diagnoses: Prematurity, birth anomalies, infectious respiratory diseases, pediatric traumas, surgical cases, cystic fibrosis (CF), technology-dependent patients, and neuromuscular disease.
- Regional Floating: Clinicians must be willing to float to sister facilities as needed, including Beeghly and Summa campus locations. Unit pairings look like PICU pairing with ICU Step Down, and ED/NICU pairing with the offsite L&D NICU location.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years (24 months) of dedicated critical care clinical experience required. Must have documented pediatric or neonatal critical care experience (ideally within a standalone children's hospital rather than a unit within an adult facility). Level 3 or 4 NICU experience is highly preferred.
- Travel Mandate: Previous travel contract experience is required.
- Licensure: Active Ohio State Respiratory Therapy License must be verified and in hand at the time of submission.
- Certifications Required: Active AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS are strictly required for file submittal.
- Equipment Mastery: Hands-on experience operating Servo vents is strictly required. High-frequency oscillator, CPAP/BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) competence required.
