Position Details
- Position: Acute Hemodialysis Registered Nurse (RN)
- Shift: Day Shift – 3 x 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Schedule and Requirements
- 3 x 12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- No routine call for this day shift position.
- No floating required.
- Self-scheduling.
- RTO must be submitted before booking. No additional RTO will be approved after signing.
- Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team during emergency events.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Acute Hemodialysis experience
- Acute inpatient hemodialysis experience required
- Recent (within the last year) experience with:
- Fresenius Hemodialysis equipment
- Baxter Peritoneal Dialysis equipment
- CAPD experience is helpful for day shift.
- Experience caring for:
- End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
- Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
- Peritoneal dialysis failure/infection
- Transplant rejection requiring hemodialysis
Required Certifications
- BLS
- NC RN License or Compact License (Pending license accepted for submission)
Preferred Certifications
- ACLS
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Nurse)
- CNN (Certified Nephrology Nurse)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide acute inpatient hemodialysis treatments.
- Perform bedside dialysis in ICU/PCU and dialysis unit.
- Operate Fresenius T Hemodialysis Machines with CliC and Bibag.
- Manage Baxter Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) treatments.
- Monitor patients receiving dialysis, including ventilated and critically ill patients.
- Utilize Epic documentation, Pyxis medication system, and Voalte communication.
- Deliver 1:1 or 1:2 patient care while ensuring safe dialysis treatment.
