👶 Unit Overview

This is a Family Birthing Unit where nurses are expected to provide care throughout multiple stages of the maternity experience.

Nurses will care for:

Labor & Delivery
Recovery
Postpartum
Newborn Nursery

This is a true cross-trained maternity assignment requiring flexibility across all areas of the unit.

👩‍⚕️ Patient Care Responsibilities

Travelers should be comfortable providing:

Labor management
Vaginal deliveries
Postpartum recovery
Mother/Baby care
Newborn nursery care
Fetal monitoring
High-risk obstetric care
Patient and family education

✅ Required Experience

Minimum Requirements

2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience

Candidates must have experience in:

Labor & Delivery
Postpartum
Newborn Nursery
Recovery

First-time travelers will NOT be considered.

Certifications Required

✅ Active Michigan RN License
✅ BLS (AHA)
✅ ACLS (AHA)
✅ NRP
✅ STABLE
✅ AWHONN

All certifications must be current at the time of submission.

Things to Know Before Applying ✔ Cross-Trained Family Birthing Unit This is not a Labor-only assignment. Travelers are expected to work throughout: Labor & Delivery Recovery Postpartum Nursery ✔ Day Shift Position 12-hour day shifts 36 guaranteed hours per week ✔ No Call Required There is no call requirement for this assignment. ✔ Weekend Requirement Every other weekend ✔ No First-Time Travelers Previous travel nursing experience is required. ✔ Scheduling Expectations The facility does not approve: Special schedule requests Extended time-off requests More than 7 days off during the contract Requests for more than 50% of holidays off Candidates are also not permitted to work another job while on assignment.
