Description
- Position: RN-Endoscopy
- Facility: Geneva General Hospital
- Location: 196 North St, Geneva, NY 14456
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
- Shift: (4x10) Day Shift (6:30 am – 4:30 pm)
hours: 40 hours per week
Position Summary
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, the Endo RN is responsible for patient assessment, care planning, procedural support, recovery, patient education, and discharge planning while promoting exceptional clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures.
- Monitor patient condition, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Administer medications and perform nursing interventions according to established standards.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding procedures, recovery, medications, lifestyle modifications, and home care.
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
- Advocate for patients' rights while maintaining a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately within the healthcare team while maintaining accountability for patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Foster a healing environment through effective communication, empathy, and patient engagement.
- Maintain professional competency through continuous learning and self-development.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous Endoscopy, GI Lab, Procedural, PACU, Critical Care, or Acute Care experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced procedural environment.
- Must be able to participate in the required on-call rotation with a 1-hour response time.

- This role involves occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and body fluids.
- Candidates must follow all infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital regulatory standards.
