- Acute Care Hospital
- Level I Trauma Center
- 55-Bed Progressive Care Unit
- Adult patient population (occasional pediatric patients age 15+)

- 55-bed Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit
- Night Shift
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Strong interdisciplinary team support including:
- Charge Nurse
- Nursing Assistants
- Unit Educator
- Care Managers
- Social Workers
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Dietitians

The RN is responsible for:
- Comprehensive patient assessments
- Cardiac and neurological monitoring
- Medication administration
- Telemetry interpretation
- Care planning and implementation
- Patient and family education
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Managing multiple high-acuity stepdown patients
β Required Experience
Candidates should have recent experience caring for Progressive Care/Stepdown patients.
Required skills include:
- Telemetry Monitoring
- Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation
- Neurological Assessments
- Insulin Drip Management
- Cardizem Administration
- PCA Pump Management
- Acute Medical/Surgical Stepdown Care

Patients commonly admitted include:
- Stroke (CVA)
- Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)
- Shortness of Breath
- COVID
- Subdural Hematoma
- Generalized Weakness
- Cardiac Conditions requiring telemetry monitoring
Common Medications & Equipment
Frequently used medications include:
- Cardizem
- Insulin
- PCA Pain Pumps
Equipment includes:
- Epic EMR
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Mechanical Patient Lifts (available in every other room)
