Travelers should be comfortable functioning independently in a busy cardiovascular surgical program.

👩‍⚕️ RN Responsibilities

The CVOR RN will:

Circulate complex cardiovascular surgical procedures
Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures
Coordinate patient care with the surgical team
Prepare and manage specialized cardiovascular equipment
Ensure patient safety before, during, and after surgery
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusionists, and surgical technologists

✅ Required Experience

Minimum Requirements

2 years of CVOR RN experience

Must have recent experience circulating:

Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG)
Mitral Valve Replacement
Pericardial Window Procedures
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
Advanced Aseptic Technique

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is highly preferred:

Vascular Surgery
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Repair
Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) Repair
Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Procedures
Trauma Surgery
Inpatient & Outpatient Surgical Care

Common Surgical Procedures

Candidates may assist with:

CABG
Valve Replacements
TAVR
Pericardial Window Procedures
Major Vascular Procedures
Cardiac Structural Repairs

Certifications Required

✅ Active RN License
✅ BLS

Equipment & Technology

Epic EMR
Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System

Things to Know Before Applying ✔ Dedicated CVOR Position This is a true Cardiovascular Operating Room assignment requiring recent circulating experience in cardiac surgery. ✔ Floating Travelers should be willing to float to the General Operating Room when cardiovascular case volume is low. ✔ Call Requirement This assignment has a heavy call schedule, including: Approximately 15 call days per month Two weekends of call each month Additional weekday call coverage Candidates should be comfortable responding to urgent and emergent cardiovascular surgical cases. ✔ Flexible Schedule The facility offers flexibility with scheduling: 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts ✔ Adult Patient Population The CVOR primarily cares for: Adult patients Geriatric patients Submission Requirements Before submission you'll need: Active RN License Current BLS Minimum 2 years of CVOR circulating experience
