Contract Details
- Location: Washington, D.C.
- Length: 8 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM; 3x12s)
- OT Rate: $75 per hour (after 40)
- Radius Rule: Strict 50-mile radius rule. Local candidates will not be accepted.
- Charting System: Cerner
Facility & Unit Overview
- Unit Environment: Highly complex, fast-paced, multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit.
- Patient Population: Provides comprehensive care for a diverse range of high-acuity patients, including neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients.
- Technology & Interventions: Nurses must be highly proficient with advanced critical care technology. The unit routinely utilizes:
- Mechanical/Circulatory Support: ECMO / TandemHeart, Impella, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP).
- Advanced Monitoring: Pulmonary artery catheters (Swan-Ganz), arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and BIS monitors.
- Neurological Care: Ventriculostomies.
- Other Modalities: Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), ventilators, and standard continuous cardiac/oximetry monitoring.
Requirements & Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent, dedicated ICU clinical experience strictly required.
- EMR Requirement: Prior Cerner experience is required.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. (Note: A BSN is highly desired).
- License: Active Washington D.C. RN license required to practice in the district.
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (Stroke Scale) are required.
