Description
Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) – $2,726.00/week
Travel
Shift: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Department: Consulting Services / Outpatient Infusion
Facility: Crawford Memorial Hospital
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN License
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy Certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (preferred)
- Chemotherapy/Oncology infusion experience preferred
- Strong EMR/computer skills
- Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking abilities
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients receiving infusion therapy.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, reassessments, and pain evaluations.
- Develop and coordinate individualized patient care plans.
- Initiate and maintain peripheral IVs and central venous access devices.
- Administer IV medications, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologics, blood products, and other prescribed infusions.
- Safely manage antineoplastic (chemotherapy) agents following Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) safety standards.
- Monitor patients for infusion reactions and adverse events; provide appropriate interventions.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care.
- Administer medications according to physician orders and nursing standards.
- Coordinate medication availability with the pharmacy to ensure uninterrupted therapy.
- Assist providers with procedures and utilize specialty infusion equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation, including assessments, medication administration, patient history, and treatment responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Follow patient safety protocols, infection prevention standards, and hand-off communication procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental performance activities.
