Location: Rochester, NY 14626
Duration: 8 Weeks

Shift: Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional post-anesthesia care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The RN will monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia, perform comprehensive assessments, manage pain, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN NY State License
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience
- First-time travelers accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

- Patient Education & Discharge Planning
- Experience with General, Ortho, Neuro, Spine, ENT, Vascular, GI, GYN, Plastics, Urology, Robotics & Endoscopic Procedures
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia recovery care
- Continuously assess airway, circulation, neurological status, and pain levels
- Monitor patients recovering from all types of anesthesia and sedation
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency medications
- Start and maintain peripheral IVs and perform phlebotomy as required
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and PACU best practices
