Description

PREMIUM LABOR & DELIVERY RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS – HIGH-ACUITY MAGNET FACILITY

We are seeking a highly seasoned, expert Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 13-week travel assignment. Operating within a prestigious, high-acuity, 426-bed MAGNET facility, this position is tailored for elite Labor & Delivery professionals fully capable of navigating a very high-risk obstetric environment completely independently. Enjoy premium night shifts and an exceptional tax-free stipend structure.

Please note: This facility enforces strict corporate hardstops. First-time travel candidates will not be considered under any circumstances. Only seasoned travel clinicians should apply.

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:30 AM). No block scheduling or travel pairs. (Note: The facility's system layout lists 24 regular hours in its base-package breakdown, with the remainder processing automatically under California's daily OT compliance structure for 12-hour shifts).
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours weekly. Facility retains the policy right to call off a maximum of one shift per 2-week pay period.
  • Scheduling Commitments: Weekend coverage is flexible and may exceed an every-other-weekend schedule to accommodate department operational needs. Outside employment scheduling requests will not be considered.
  • EMR System: Epic charting system.
  • Clinical Scope & Procedures: Comprehensive management of highly complex, high-risk antepartum, labor, and delivery profiles. Patient caseloads frequently include preterm labor, advanced pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, multiples, severe hypertension, gestational diabetes, fetal anomalies, and IUFD tracking.
  • Procedural Competency: Full execution of vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation, external fetal monitoring (EFM), sterile vaginal exams, external versions, D&Cs, and cervical cerclage. High-level pharmacology familiarity required for specialized infusions including Magnesium Sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and acute antihypertensives.

📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive, dedicated L&D clinical experience is an absolute HARDSTOP. Experience working within large, high-volume acute care hospital settings is highly preferred.
  • Travel Mandate: Previous travel contract experience is an absolute HARDSTOP. No first-time travelers will be screened or accommodated.
  • Local Radius Policy: Local radius is strictly set at 50 miles. Candidates residing within 50 miles must be submitted under a specific local-rate structure.
  • Scrubs Mandate: Navy Blue scrubs required for general transit; specialty L&D/OR surgical scrubs are provided directly on-site by the facility. Free parking is fully included.
  • Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP. Must hold an active AWHONN Intermediate certificate (or a verified NCC EFM Certification in its place). AWHONN Advanced certification is highly preferred. Active, unrestricted California state nursing licensure is mandatory in-hand.

🛑 Hardstop Clinical Competency: This facility enforces an absolute clinical hardstop regarding technical capability. All incoming clinicians must be fully competent to independently execute sterile vaginal exams, circulate C-sections, and manage high-risk Magnesium Sulfate or insulin titration from day one without core staff intervention. ⏱️ Submission Recency Requirement: To successfully clear the automated screening, your profile history must display active, dedicated high-risk Labor & Delivery clinical experience within large hospital environments inside your most recent work history. 📞 Comprehensive Weekend Expectations: To ensure robust clinical coverage across this high-volume department, candidates must be prepared for a flexible weekend rotation that may occasionally exceed standard every-other-weekend intervals based on unit census. 🎓 Certification Flexibility: While clinical leadership prefers the AWHONN Advanced certification to align with their MAGNET excellence standards, they will gladly accept a National Certification Corporation (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate in lieu of the Intermediate AWHONN card.
