Description
PREMIUM LABOR & DELIVERY RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS – HIGH-ACUITY TRAUMA LEVEL II
We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 13-week travel assignment. Operating within a busy, high-acuity Family Birthing Center featuring a Level III NICU, this position is tailored for elite L&D professionals fully capable of handling both low- and high-risk deliveries completely independently. Enjoy predictable night shifts and an exceptional tax-free stipend structure.
Please note: This facility enforces an absolute corporate hardstop on day one. All incoming triage, emergency, and critical care specialties—including L&D—must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site. This is a strict PASS/FAIL exam required to clear orientation.
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (06:45 PM - 07:15 AM). No block scheduling.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours guaranteed weekly. Hospital reserves the policy right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Weekend Requirements: Rigorous weekend commitment required: 3 weekend shifts within every 4-week schedule block (Friday/Saturday night coverage).
- EMR & Technology Systems: Cerner charting alongside Fetal Link for surveillance and Phillips for FHM systems.
- Clinical Environment: Mercy Medical Center Redding—a premier, advanced Trauma Level II acute care hospital with a dedicated 24/7 in-house Laborist (OB MD).
- Unit Scope & Setup: Family Birthing Center comprising 12 L&D beds, 19 Postpartum beds, 2 dedicated surgical ORs, and 1 PACU bed. Strictly adheres to California mandated staffing ratios ($1:1$ to $1:4$ depending on acuity). Specialized OB Techs handle desk coverage and surgical scrubbing.
- Floating Mandate: First to float. May float to Pediatrics (to care for couplets/postpartum profiles) or NICU (limited strictly to feeders and growers based on past experience).
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly in an acute care Labor & Delivery unit [REQUIRED]. Must possess verified proficiency in high-risk delivery tracking.
- Orientation Tracking: 2–3 shifts of floor orientation provided depending on surgical capability. While circulating capability is highly preferred, it is not an absolute requirement for this contract.
- Vaccine Mandate: COVID-19 vaccination is strictly required [REQUIRED] by facility guidelines.
- Scrubs Mandate: Specialty surgical scrubs are provided directly on-site by the hospital.
- Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Advanced AWHONN) [REQUIRED].
- Licensure Required: Active, unrestricted California state nursing licensure is mandatory in-hand [REQUIRED]. No pending licenses accepted.
