Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
Location: Albany, GA 31701
Shift Timing: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Schedule: 48 Hours/Week | Every Other Weekend
Contract Duration: 17 Weeks with possible extension
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Travel (Radius rule 75 miles)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical (Med Surg) travel assignment in Albany, GA. The ideal candidate will have strong acute care experience, previous travel nursing experience, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical Surgical patients.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate documentation using MEDITECH EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatments and discharge planning.
- Float to designated units based on staffing needs.
- Follow hospital policies and evidence-based nursing practices.
Skills:
- Experience with MEDITECH EMR.
- Ability to care for up to a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
- Comfortable floating to:
- Orthopedic
- Neuro
- Oncology
- Acute Care
- Other designated Med Surg units
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required).
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical experience.
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required.
