Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to join our critical care team on a 13-week travel assignment. The ICU RN provides comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced life support. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in managing unstable patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for critically ill patients.
- Monitor patients requiring continuous cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and vasoactive drips according to physician orders.
- Operate and monitor advanced life support equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and invasive monitoring devices.
- Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Assist with emergency procedures, rapid response events, and code situations.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning when appropriate.
- Maintain infection prevention standards and ensure patient safety at all times.
- Provide compassionate care while supporting patients and families during critical illness.
- Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based critical care practices.
