PREMIUM EMERGENCY ROOM RN CONTRACT – 3x12 EVENINGS – HIGH-VOLUME ACUTE CARE
We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 13-week travel assignment. Operating within a high-acuity, 24-bed Emergency Department that manages 80–90 patient visits daily, this position is tailored for elite emergency professionals fully capable of handling diverse trauma, stroke, sepsis, and cardiac tracks completely independently. Please note: This facility enforces a strict corporate employment rule. Candidates cannot have been employed in a full-time, part-time, or PRN capacity with any facility associated with CommonSpirit Health (including all CHI and Dignity Health locations) within the past year [HARDSTOP].
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Mid-day/Evening shifts, 3x12-Hours (15:00 PM - 03:00 AM). No block scheduling.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours guaranteed weekly. The hospital maintains the policy right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Weekend & Holiday Rules: Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday rotation are strictly required. There is absolutely no routine on-call or standby requirement for this contract.
- EMR System: Paragon charting system.
- Unit Scope & Setup: Comprehensive 24-bed Emergency Department featuring 3 dedicated trauma bays and an active Fast Track. Nursing matrices are maintained strictly at a 1:4 patient ratio.
- Departmental Flow & Holds: Includes a separate triage area where travel clinicians may occasionally be utilized. Please note that this facility has no separate holding area; ER holds are intermixed within the main unit and are managed directly by the primary ER RN.
- Clinical Capabilities: High-acuity cross-coverage. The unit features dedicated in-house security, 24/7 emergency physician and mid-level coverage, and full interdisciplinary support (Nurse Aides, Paramedics, and Patient Sitters). X-Ray and CT imaging suites are located directly adjacent to the department.
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly in a dedicated acute care Emergency Department [REQUIRED]. Must possess verified proficiency in treating high-acuity trauma, acute stroke, and active sepsis tracks.
- Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and EITHER PALS or ENPC certifications are strictly required [HARDSTOP]. * Technical Competency Rules: There are no monitor technicians on this unit. Incoming clinicians must possess expert-level ECG rhythm interpretation skills and read their own strips independently from day one [HARDSTOP]. Phlebotomy tasks are shared between techs and RNs.
- Licensure Required: Active, unrestricted Texas (TX) state nursing licensure or an active multistate Compact license must be fully in-hand at the time of submission [HARDSTOP]. * Scrubs Mandate: Travel clinicians must provide their own daily uniform adhering strictly to facility color codes: Solid Navy Blue scrubs.
