PREMIUM MED/SURG TELEMETRIC NEURO RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS – TRAUMA LEVEL I ACADEMIC FACILITY
We are seeking a highly resilient Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) with dedicated neurological clinical experience for an immediate 13-week travel assignment. Operating within a specialized 25-bed Med/Surg Neuro unit at a high-acuity Trauma Level I medical center in Omaha, NE, this position is tailored for elite nursing professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments with high daily admission and discharge turnovers. Please note: This health system enforces a strict competency rule. Travel clinicians will take an open-book pass/fail skills exam with full resources provided on the Friday of orientation. A score of 90% or higher is required to maintain the contract [HARDSTOP].
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (18:30 PM - 07:00 AM). Travelers will be scheduled by unit leadership; limited block scheduling requests may be reviewed but are not guaranteed.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours guaranteed weekly. The facility maintains the policy right to cancel a maximum of 4 shifts per 13-week contract.
- Weekend & Holiday Rules: Every other weekend coverage is strictly required [REQUIRED], with potential for additional weekend shifts based on real-time unit census. Holiday tracking requires coverage across 2 to 3 major holidays spanning Thanksgiving to New Year's.
- EMR System: Epic charting system required.
- Unit Scope & Setup: Active 25-bed specialized 4th Floor North unit. Patient care matrices run at a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio, supported by dedicated Patient Care Technicians (1:10 to 1:20 ratio).
- Clinical Flow & Caseloads: High-turnover environment. Case configurations involve specialized Stroke care, stable neurological deficits, post-neurosurgery procedural tracking, orthopedic trauma, joint replacements, complex colon resections, prostatectomies, GI bleeds, sepsis, and COPD exacerbations.
- Floating Mandate: Float required. Clinicians will float to sister medical-surgical units or boarding areas holding med/surg patients to satisfy health system needs.
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly within an acute care Med/Surg Telemetry or Neuro unit [REQUIRED]. Profile histories must show zero active state license restrictions and zero background hits [HARDSTOP]. First-time travel nurses will be considered if their acute hospital background is exceptionally strong.
- Profile Submission Mandate: A valid Driver's License must be included directly with your profile submittal [HARDSTOP]. This will be used to verify that your permanent residence sits outside the facility's strict 50-mile radius rule.
- Hygiene & Nail Policy: Artificial fingernails of any type are strictly prohibited in all patient care areas [HARDSTOP]. Refusal to remove artificial modifications prior to or during orientation will result in immediate contract termination.
- Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications are strictly required upon profile submission [HARDSTOP].
- Scrubs Mandate: Travel clinicians must provide their own professional attire adhering strictly to department rules: Solid Navy Blue scrubs.
