PREMIUM MED/SURG TELEMETRIC SURGICAL/NEURO RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS – HIGH-ACUITY ACUTE CARE
We are seeking a highly resilient Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) with robust surgical and neurological clinical experience for an immediate 13-week travel assignment in Prescott, AZ, this position is tailored for elite nursing professionals who thrive in high-capacity environments. Please note: This facility utilizes a highly streamlined onboarding track consisting of only 1 shift of unit-specific floor orientation. Due to this compressed training timeline, prior experience with the Cerner charting platform is strongly recommended to ensure a seamless integration from night one.
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:30 AM) with a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Schedules are built out in 4-week blocks utilizing balanced self-scheduling. No block scheduling guarantees.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours guaranteed weekly. The hospital maintains the policy right to cancel a maximum of 4 shifts over the duration of the 13-week contract.
- Weekend & Holiday Rules: 2 full weekends are strictly required per 4-week schedule cycle. The holiday rotation requires coverage across 2 days and 1 eve (or 2 eves and 1 day) across the major holiday blocks (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day).
- EMR System: Cerner charting system.
- Unit Scope & Setup: Combined 48-bed 4th Floor Surgical/Neuro unit. Care matrices maintain an attractive and consistent 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, supported by dedicated Nurse Aides tracking at a 1:10 to 1:15 ratio. The Charge Nurse does not take a patient assignment.
- Clinical Flow & Caseloads: High-yield medical-surgical mixture. Case tracking involves CVA/Stroke, TIA, stable respiratory failure, GI pathways, diabetics, complex general surgeries, and advanced orthopedic/spinal surgical reconstructions.
- Floating Mandate: First to Float. Traveling clinicians must be highly flexible to float to alternative medical-surgical departments, the East Campus facility, or the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) if clinically qualified to support health system needs.
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly within an acute care Med/Surg Telemetry unit [REQUIRED]. Must possess documented, hands-on experience managing post-operative orthopedic, spine, and general surgical tracks. First-time travel nurses are accepted.
- Technical Rhythm Mandate: Incoming clinicians must possess expert-level ECG rhythm interpretation skills [HARDSTOP]. Telemetry lines are monitored remotely by 3rd-floor techs who post strips; however, the primary floor RN is strictly required to independently interpret, validate, and co-sign patient telemetry strips at least once per shift.
- Certifications Required: Verifiable active AHA BLS and AHA ACLS are strictly required upon profile submission [HARDSTOP]. All credentials must be attached immediately to pass vendor automated screening.
- Licensure Required: An active, unrestricted Arizona (AZ) state nursing license or an active multistate Compact license must be fully clear and in-hand at the time of profile submittal.
- Scrubs Mandate: Travel clinicians must provide their own professional uniform adhering strictly to facility color codes: Solid Navy Blue scrubs.
