Description

PREMIUM EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS – MULTI-CAMPUS ER MATRIX

We are seeking a highly proficient Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 13-week travel assignment. Operating within a 24-bed Level 4 Trauma and Intake-model Emergency Department that treats 80–110 patients daily, this position is tailored for elite emergency professionals who possess exceptional critical thinking skills, acute coronary syndrome (AMI) management expertise, and strong conscious sedation proficiency. Enjoy a stable night routine and a balanced, high-resource clinical environment.

Please note: This position features a dual-campus regional staffing layout. The standard departmental orientation requires a structured 12-hour orientation shift on the unit at both the primary and regional sister emergency departments alongside an expert clinical mentor.

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours. Hospital leadership coordinates scheduling blocks; pre-arranged block scheduling is permitted up to a strict maximum of 4 consecutive shifts. No self-scheduling is available.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours guaranteed weekly. The facility maintains the operational right to cancel a maximum of 4 shifts over the duration of the 13-week contract.
  • Weekend & Holiday Rules: Every Other Weekend (EOW) coverage is strictly required (Friday/Saturday nights). Holiday tracking requires a negotiable rotation across major blocks (Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day).
  • On-Call Requirement: Exactly 1 designated on-call/standby shift is required per 28-day schedule cycle [REQUIRED]. Night-shift clinicians will pick up night call standby windows.
  • EMR System: Cerner charting platform.
  • Unit Scope & Matrices: High-functioning 24-bed ED featuring 4 critical care rooms and 1 designated trauma room. Nursing ratios are maintained strictly at 1:4 for general emergency zones and scale to 1:1 or 1:2 for active ICU/boarder patients depending entirely on real-time acuity.
  • Departmental Flow & Holds: Operates an active intake model for lower-acuity triage. There is no separate holding pavilion; all emergency department boarding holds are intermixed within the primary footprint and are managed directly by the primary assigned zone RN.
  • Floating Mandate: Multi-Campus Float. Traveling clinicians must be flexible to float between the primary and regional sister emergency departments. These rotations are generally pre-scheduled by administrative leadership.

📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive clinical experience strictly within a dedicated acute hospital Emergency Department [REQUIRED]. Profile submissions must demonstrate verified mastery of rapid triage, conscious sedation protocols, and acute MI pathways.
  • Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and EITHER PALS or ENPC certifications are strictly required upon submission [HARDSTOP]. * Technical Strip Reading Competency: There are no monitor technicians assigned to this emergency room. Primary zone nurses are strictly required to independently interpret, read, and document their own telemetry strips from night one [HARDSTOP]. Emergency department technicians are trained only to identify immediate lethal rhythms.
  • Licensure Required: An active, unrestricted state nursing license or an active multistate Compact license must be fully clear and in-hand at the time of profile submittal.
  • Scrubs Mandate: Travel clinicians must provide their own professional medical uniforms adhering strictly to departmental guidelines: Solid Navy Blue scrubs.
