PREMIUM ORTHOPEDIC / MEDICAL-SURGICAL RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS

We are seeking an Orthopedic / Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 26-week contract assignment in Peoria, IL. Operating within a 43-bed, all-private-room unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center, this position focuses on medical-surgical, post-operative orthopedic, and fracture trauma care.

Please note: This facility enforces a strict drug-free campus policy requiring a negative drug screen across all panels. Local rates apply to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles (-$25/hr to regular and OT bill rates).

📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours guaranteed weekly. Note that guaranteed hours do not apply during the 12 hours of non-billable orientation.
• Contract Length: 26 Weeks.
• OSF Call-Off Policy: The facility can call off the equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or pay required.
• Weekend & Floating Rules: Every other weekend required (Saturday/Sunday for day shift; Friday/Saturday for night shift). No call or standby requirement. Travel RNs are the first to float to similar MedSurg floors.
• EMR System: Epic charting platform.
• Unit Scope & Ratios: 43 private beds. Ratios are 1:4–5 on days and 1:5–6 on nights. PCTs are staffed at a 1:7–8 ratio. A primary Charge RN is on each shift, and a House Supervisor is available 24/7.
• Equipment & Telemetry: Features house-wide Phillips telemetry pack monitors (RNs are required to read their own strips). CPAP and heated high-flow are utilized as needed (RNs troubleshoot only).

📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

• Experience Rules: 1–2 years of clinical experience with post-op surgical care and general med-surg care [REQUIRED].
• Submission Details Required: Submissions must include the last 4 digits of the clinician's SSN, middle initial, requested time off, and an active IL license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated) [HARDSTOP].
• Certifications Required: Active AHA BLS certification [HARDSTOP].
• Dress Code: Any color of scrubs is permitted. Must maintain an adult professional appearance; all tattoos and piercings must be covered.
