Description
Position Summary
Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse
Shift: 3x12 Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Requirements
- Washington RN License or Compact License
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience in a larger trauma center
- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS or ENPC
- TNCC
- NIHSS
- Phone interview required
- Must be available to work Labor Day weekend
Unit Information
- Emergency Department
- 56 licensed beds (expands to 60–70 with hall beds)
- 170–200 patient visits per day
- 6-bed Fast Track
- Separate 5-bed Triage area
- 18-bed ER Holding Area
- Separate locked Behavioral Health/Psych area with 6 rooms
- In-house Security
- EMR: Epic
Common Patient Population
- Cardiac emergencies
- Stroke
- Sepsis
- DKA
- Altered Mental Status (AMS)
- Respiratory emergencies
- Abdominal pain
- Mental health/behavioral health patients
Support Staff
- ED Physicians & Advanced Practice Providers
- Charge Nurse & House Supervisor
- ED Technicians
- CNAs (for sitters)
- Respiratory Therapy
- Monitor Technicians
- Transport Services
Equipment & Skills
- Epic charting
- Ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen
- ED Techs perform EKGs
- RNs/ED Techs perform blood draws
- Radiology located adjacent to ED
Scheduling
- Every other weekend
- Must work November/December holidays (manager may approve one holiday off depending on unit needs)
- No call required
- No floating
- Existing traveler schedule templates used (no self-scheduling)
