Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) unit. The ideal candidate will have recent experience caring for adult patients with a wide range of acute medical conditions and post-operative needs. The Med/Surg RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, coordinate treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and post-operative conditions.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
• Manage patients with acute and chronic illnesses, including diabetes, respiratory disorders, cardiac conditions, infections, and post-surgical recovery.
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
• Float to other appropriate units based on competency and facility needs, if required.
