• Additional Notes: Home unit would be CCU but will float 1st if needed in CVICU or CCSD. Can be floated to med-surg departments if critical care areas are staffed.  

Unit Information:

• Number of Beds: CCU- 22, CVICU- 14 (varies up and down depending on surgeries/ICU overflow), CCSD- 31
• Patient Ratios: CCU- 1:2, 1:3; CVICU- 1:2, 1:3; CCSD- 1:4, 1:5; Med-surg- 1:6
• Equipment: SpaceLabs bedside monitoring with continuous ECG, O2, Respiratory, BP, CVP, and PA monitoring, Baxter/Spectrum IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, Hill-Rom critical care beds, Ventilators (Variety), Prismaflex CRRT machines, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Blanketrols, Arctic Sun, Rapid-Transfusion, Fluid warming, and Zoll monitoring.
• EHR: Meditech, Clinical access for ICU patients

• Supervisor: Alexandra Annett

• Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: Adult, Geriatric

Hiring Profile:

• Must Have Skills/Experience: Efficient time management, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, Smart phone to communicate with physicians via our TigerConnect app, Proficiency in nursing skills such as but not limited to: IV starts and blood draws, NG tube placements, ECG rhythm interpretation, Lab and ABG interpretation, Critical care drips and titrations, Management of ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, Central Venous lines (including Large-Volume Vas Caths), Assisting physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation, Ability to effectively communicate with patients & families.
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: Prior experience in a teaching hospital with resident physicians. High-acuity ICU where the RN manages advanced skills such as CRRT, IABP, Arterial Sheath pulls, and other devices. Prior experience in SICU, MICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU and PCU/Med-surg.
• Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Respiratory Failure, Ischemic and Hemorrhagic strokes, STEMI/NSTEMI, Cardiogenic shock, Septic Shock, GI Bleeds, Post-operative GI disorders, CABGs, Vascular procedures, and more! NAMC has a wide-variety of specialty physicians.
• Personality Fit: Works well with others and members of the team, excellent communication skills, ability to function and complete tasks in critical situations.

• Required Education: All online learning Lifetalent assignments including but not limited to: NIHSS, ACLS/BLS, Moderate Sedation/Analgesia, iStat and glucometer certifications.
