Description
PREMIUM HIGH-RISK LABOR & DELIVERY RN CONTRACT – 3x12 NIGHTS
We are seeking an elite, highly proficient Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Orange, CA. Operating within a high-volume, 426-bed MAGNET-designated acute care hospital, this high-acuity unit specializes in complex obstetric emergencies.
Please note: This position enforces absolute hardstops on traveler experience. Profiles with missing certifications, zero prior travel experience, or less than 2 years of core L&D experience will be immediately rejected without review [HARDSTOP].
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-Hours (19:00 PM - 07:30 AM). No block schedules permitted.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours weekly. Note: The facility reserves the right to call off a clinician once per 2-week pay period.
- Weekend & Scheduling Rules: Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit staffing demands. Scheduling accommodations for outside employment will not be considered.
- Travel Pairs Constraint: Dual/partner submissions will not be considered for this assignment [HARDSTOP].
- EMR System: Epic charting platform.
- Local Radius Rule: A strict 50-mile local radius restriction applies. Regional candidates inside this boundary must be submitted under a modified local rate packet.
📋 CLINICAL MATRIX & UNIT SCOPE
- Acuity & Population: Extremely high-risk unit caring for advanced pregnancy diagnoses including preterm labor, severe pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, multi-fetal gestations, fetal anomalies, diabetes, pyelonephritis, and intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD).
- Core Procedures: Independent mastery of vaginal deliveries, external fetal monitoring (EFM) troubleshooting, cervical cerclage, D&Cs, and cephalic versions.
- Surgical Mandate: Must be highly proficient to independently circulate for Cesarean sections [HARDSTOP].
- High-Alert Infusions: Seamless execution of Magnesium Sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and acute antihypertensive protocols.
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of consecutive acute care L&D experience [HARDSTOP]. Large hospital setting experience is highly preferred.
- Traveler Rule: Prior travel nursing experience is strictly required. First-time travel profiles will not be screened [HARDSTOP].
- Licensure Required: Active, unrestricted California (CA) nursing license must be active and attached at submission. Pending licenses are not accepted.
- Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate are strictly required upon submission [HARDSTOP]. Note: An active NCC EFM certification can be accepted in place of an Intermediate AWHONN certificate. AWHONN Advanced is highly preferred.
- Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs for general areas. Specialized surgical scrubs are provided on-site for L&D/OR environments.
