Assignment Details
- Duration: 13 Weeks
- Schedule: 40 hours per week
- Shift Options (Monday–Friday):
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- On-Call Requirements:
- Weekday Call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Approximately 2 shifts per month)
- Weekend Call: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 7:00 AM (Approximately 2 weekends during the 13-week assignment)
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Sonography or Radiography program.
- ARDMS Certification (Required).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Certification Requirements
- Registry-eligible candidates must obtain ARDMS RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RDMS (Abdomen or OB/GYN) certification within 6 months of employment (RVT preferred first).
- Both RVT and RDMS certifications must be completed within 12 months of employment.
- A third certification (Abdomen or OB/GYN) must be obtained within 18 months.
- Sonographers performing breast imaging must earn RDMS (Breast) certification within 24 months of competency.
- Candidates hired specifically for Vascular Sonography who are not eligible for Abdomen or OB/GYN registries are exempt from those additional registry requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including vascular, abdominal, OB/GYN, and other studies as assigned.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures by explaining the examination process and ensuring patient comfort.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
- Evaluate image quality and ensure studies meet physician and departmental standards.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and the healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis and patient care.
- Document procedures accurately and maintain complete patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards.
- Participate in scheduled weekday and weekend on-call rotations as required.
