Description
PREMIUM SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST CONTRACT – 4x10 DAYS & CALL
We are seeking a highly efficient Surgical Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in Omaha, NE. Operating within a high-volume, 6-suite surgical department that manages over 400 cases per month, this position is ideal for an adaptable, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Please note: This facility enforces strict clinical flexibility. Traveling techs must be highly proficient in both adult and pediatric caseloads and be willing to adjust shifts to accommodate shifting surgical volumes [REQUIRED].
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Day shifts, 4x10-Hours (06:30 AM - 17:00 PM). Schedule is dynamically structured by the OR Supervisor.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours guaranteed weekly.
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks (08/03/2026 – 11/02/2026).
- On-Call & Standby Mandates: Active call is strictly required [REQUIRED]. Expect 6–7 weeknight call shifts per month (approximately 1 per week) and 2–3 call weekends over the course of the 13-week contract. At least 1 holiday call rotation may apply based on departmental needs. Must be willing to take call on short notice.
- Cancellation Policy: The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
- Orientation Track: 12 total hours (spanning 1–3 days of department-specific orientation).
- Dress Code: Specialized surgical scrubs are provided on-site by the OR department.
📋 CLINICAL MATRIX & SURGICAL SCOPE
- Patient Population: Comprehensive scrub support across both Adult and Pediatric (Peds) patients.
- Core "Must-Have" Competencies: Independent, high-level scrub mastery across Total Joint Orthopedics, Robotic procedures, and General Laparoscopic cases [REQUIRED].
- Specialty Case Mix: Fluent cross-coverage within a heavy outpatient/elective matrix including Ortho Sports Medicine, OB/GYN, Plastics, ENT, Urology, Podiatry, Advanced Hand cases, and complex Breast Reconstructions.
- EMR System: Epic EMR.
📋 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience Rules: Minimum 2 years of current, consecutive acute care OR experience [REQUIRED]. Candidates must demonstrate an efficient, fast-paced workflow and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Certifications Required: Verifiable Active AHA BLS certification is strictly required upon submission [HARDSTOP]. National CST certification via the NBSTSA is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Time Off Constraints: All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted upfront and is strictly capped at 7 days or less per 13-week contract. Post-submission RTO will be automatically denied.
📍 CORPORATE & COMPLIANCE EXCLUSIONS
- CommonSpirit System Rule: Candidates cannot be currently or recently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit Health, including CHI and Dignity Health, within the past year [HARDSTOP].
- Radius Rule: A strict 50-mile local radius restriction is enforced. A valid Driver's License must be provided at submittal to verify a permanent address outside this boundary.
- Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are completely prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails will lead to immediate termination of the contract.
