Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry

We're seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading hospital in Maryville, Tennessee.

Position Details

• Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry
• Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: Required to similar units based on census
• Patient Ratio: 1:7 (Nights)

Requirements

• Active Tennessee RN License
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience
• First-time travelers considered with strong experience
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry to join a high-performing healthcare team in Maryville, TN for a 13-week travel assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment while providing exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients.

As a Med Surg/Telemetry RN, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for individuals with a variety of medical conditions, including post-operative and cardiac patients. The ideal candidate is experienced in telemetry monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and oxygen therapy.
• Care for patients with peripheral IVs, central lines, PICC lines, and post-heart catheterization procedures.
• Perform patient assessments and document accurately using Epic EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
• Float to similar units when needed based on patient census.
