RN – Medical-Surgical | Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Perform patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor patient progress throughout hospitalization.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor vital signs, recognize changes in patient condition, and communicate findings promptly to the healthcare team.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as appropriate.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while managing multiple patient assignments in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Required Documents / Certifications

• Active RN License
• BLS Certification
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• Acute Care Hospital experience
• Experience with Cerner EMR (preferred)
