Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery
Location: Chicago, IL
Shift: Days | 3x12-Hour (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Contract: 13 Weeks
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Level I Trauma Center in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients and providing exceptional care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum recovery.
- Perform fetal monitoring, obstetrical triage, and sterile vaginal exams.
- Administer medications, including magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, antihypertensives, and heparin drips.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Float to other units as needed within scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN License required.
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required.
- High-risk (Level III) OB experience required.
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
