Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN)
Location: Pawnee Indian Health Center – Pawnee, OK
Shift- Day (8x5)- 40hrs/week

Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care and clinical support to healthcare providers in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The LPN assists with patient assessments, medication administration, immunizations, diagnostic procedures, patient education, and care coordination while ensuring compliance with Indian Health Service (IHS) policies, nursing standards, and infection control guidelines. The role requires compassionate, culturally sensitive care for patients across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician.
- Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, height, weight, and other clinical measurements.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments within the LPN scope of practice.
- Perform routine clinical procedures such as EKGs, specimen collection, wound care, dressing changes, and point-of-care testing.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly report abnormal findings to the provider.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, preventive care, and disease management.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR/RPMS).
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of medications and supplies.
- Follow infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and mandatory training.
- Maintain examination rooms, clinical equipment, and medical supplies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) license.
- Minimum 2 year of recent clinic, outpatient, primary care, family practice, urgent care, or medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
License and Certification:
BLS(AHA)
