Description
Department: Adult Medical Speciality Unit | RN - # Beds: 56: private and semi-private. - Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 & 1:5-6 from 23-0730. - Required certifications: BLS. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Acute Care Gen-Med: cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute resp failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health & addictions. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Central Lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes. Prefer candidates who have EPIC experience and travel experience on a MedSurg Floor- IF they have experience in a level I trauma center will consider without travel experience as long as they have EPIC experience. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Lasix - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Free charge RN on each floor. - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: PCTs assist with vital signs, accucheks, bladder scans and ADLS. Ratio 1:8-10.
