Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Travel Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care for adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills, experience interpreting cardiac rhythms, and the ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care environment. The Med/Surg Tele RN collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care throughout hospitalization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical, surgical, and telemetry patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs, oxygenation, neurological status, and overall clinical condition.
• Care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, renal, gastrointestinal, endocrine, infectious, and post-operative conditions.
• Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, disease management, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient progress in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Adhere to infection prevention standards, patient safety initiatives, and hospital policies.
• Float to other appropriate units based on patient care needs and demonstrated competency.
