Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required
Job Summary
- Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
- Perform intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and management.
- Evaluate patient needs including disease education, testing, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
- Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and team members to support care goals.
- Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing at least 1 hour per day.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- At least 1 year of ICU experience.
- Previous experience with ventilators required.
- Must be willing to float to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Certifications & Licenses
- Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
- Current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA certified.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certified.
