Description

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Employment Type: Clinical-Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend and holidays required

Job Summary

Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies.
Perform intubation assistance, ventilator setup, and management.
Evaluate patient needs including disease education, testing, and consultations with healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and caregivers based on identified needs.
Collaborate with patients, caregivers, and team members to support care goals.
Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing at least 1 hour per day.

Required Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
At least 1 year of ICU experience.
Previous experience with ventilators required.
Must be willing to float to adult ICU, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floors.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Certifications & Licenses

Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
Current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA certified.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - AHA certified.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA certified.
