Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery | Travel Contract

Location: Livingston, NJ
Shift: Nights | 3x12 Hours (7:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, labor & delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients.
• Assess, monitor, and manage mothers and newborns throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Circulate for Cesarean sections (required) and assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries.
• Recover post C-section patients and provide immediate postpartum care.
• Perform fetal monitoring using external/internal fetal monitoring, spiral electrode placement, and IUPC monitoring.
• Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and obstetric emergencies.
• Administer labor medications including Pitocin, Prostaglandins, Terbutaline, insulin drips, antihypertensives, anticoagulants, and blood products.
• Perform neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, thermoregulation, cord care, and infant identification.
• Assist with antepartum procedures including NSTs, OCTs, amniocentesis, cervical assessments, and obstetrical triage.
• Care for newborns requiring phototherapy, hypoglycemia management, neonatal abstinence syndrome care, and circumcision education.

• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR and Pyxis medication management.

   

Requirements:

• Active RN License.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
• Must have C-Section circulating experience.
• Experience with a 1:2 patient ratio preferred.
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
• Experience with Epic charting system required.
• Strong experience managing high-risk obstetric patients and newborn care.
• Must be willing to work every other weekend and float to Antepartum, Postpartum, and PACU as needed.
