HOT JOB: OPERATING ROOM RN – 5x8 DAYS & CALL (GARDEN CITY, KS)

Sia Hayes at First Connect Health is fast-tracking applications for an experienced Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse. This is a 13-week contract at an acute care Level 3 Trauma Center with a consistent daytime schedule and a direct interview pipeline. First-time travelers are welcome!

POSITION QUICK-FACTS

• Start Date: 08/03/2026 (13 Weeks)
• Shift: 06:30 AM - 15:00 PM | Monday through Friday (5x8s)
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours weekly
• On-Call Mandate: Weeknight and weekend call rotations are required.
  • Weeknight Call: 15:00 PM - 07:00 AM
  • Weekend Call: 24-hour shifts (07:00 AM - 07:00 AM). Saturday/Sunday blocks are typically taken together, though not strictly required.
  • Response Time: Must be able to report to the unit within 30 minutes of being called in.

THE CLINICAL MATRIX

• The Environment: Level 3 Trauma Center operating a surgical suite with 4 ORs and 1 GI Endoscopy room. The unit averages roughly 10 cases per day.
• Case Mix: High volume of robotic/laparoscopic cholecystectomies, hernias, appendectomies, basic orthopedics, GYN, and podiatry.
• Clinical Skills: Prior robotic surgery and GI experience are highly preferred. Nurses are not required to scrub, as the facility staffs at least 1 OR Tech and 1 First Assistant (FA) for the majority of cases.
• Systems & Charting: Epic EMR.
• Float Expectations: No floating outside of the OR. In cases of extreme network need, floating is restricted strictly within regional partner facilities.
• Dress Code: Ceil Blue scrubs are provided directly by the facility.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated acute care Operating Room experience.
• Licensure: Must hold an active and unrestricted Kansas state nursing license. License to submit is required.
• Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Geographic Rule: Must live outside a 60-mile radius from the facility to qualify as a traveler. A legible copy of your Driver's License must be submitted up front with your profile.
• Logistics Mandates: Clinicians must be physically present in the state of Kansas for the week of orientation, even if the initial first-day training modules are delivered remotely.
