HOT JOB: ADULT & ADOLESCENT PSYCH RN – 3x12 DAYS (LEWISTON, ME)

 

Sia Hayes at First Connect Health is fast-tracking applications for an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse. This is a 13-week contract, a 150-500 bed facility with an immediate selection pipeline. Please review the unique background and background compliance hardstops below before applying.

 

POSITION QUICK-FACTS

THE CLINICAL MATRIX

  • The Environment: Inpatient behavioral units. While categorized under Adult Psych, this position actively operates across a diverse behavioral care footprint.
  • Patient Demographics & Scope: Provide direct care for children and adolescents (ages 6–18) on an inpatient Adolescent unit. Primary diagnoses include major depression and ADD/ADHD.
  • Core Duties: Manage medication administration, family and patient drug education, daily behavioral documentation, and real-time milieu management. Travelers are also expected to actively lead and participate in patient education groups.
  • Float Requirement: Must be fully willing to float to the Chemical Dependency and Detoxification units as needed.
  • Professional Demeanor: Must possess exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to manage highly stressful acute clinical situations, and the capacity to enforce strict, therapeutic professional boundaries.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of overall nursing experience is required by the facility job details (1–3 years of direct experience working with psychiatric adults is highly preferred).
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Maine (ME) state RN license or valid multi-state Compact license must be in-hand at the time of submission.
  • Certifications: Active AHA BLS and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certifications are strictly required.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
  • Geographic Rule: Travel candidates only. All applicants (including Maine residents) must permanently reside outside a 50-mile radius from the Lewiston, ME campus. Local candidates will not be considered.
