Job Overview:
Ā 

Akron Campus is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technician to join its high-volume Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The ideal candidate will have recent experience assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, radiation safety, and procedural efficiency.

The Cath Lab Technician will work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and the multidisciplinary cardiovascular team to provide safe and efficient patient care throughout all invasive cardiovascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures.
  • Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterizations, coronary angiograms, PCI, peripheral vascular interventions, and other invasive cardiovascular procedures.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, sterile fields, equipment, catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, and intervention devices.
  • Scrub and circulate during invasive cardiovascular procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
  • Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and promptly recognize hemodynamic changes or complications.
  • Operate and document procedural events using hemodynamic monitoring systems.
  • Assist with pressure monitoring, contrast administration, and image acquisition.
  • Evaluate image quality and collaborate with physicians to obtain additional views when necessary.
  • Perform patient preparation including positioning, safety verification, and equipment setup.
  • Maintain radiation safety standards for patients and staff.
  • Troubleshoot fluoroscopy equipment and report equipment issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate procedural documentation and patient records.
  • Assist with emergency procedures including STEMI activations and cardiac emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and departmental policies.
  • Participate in on-call coverage for emergency cardiac procedures.Ā

Minimum Qualifications:
Ā 

Education:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.Ā 

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active ARRT (R) Certification.
  • Active Ohio Department of Health Radiographer License (ODH).
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Current ACLS Certification.
  • CVI, RCIS, or RCES Certification preferred.Ā 

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab, Special Procedures, or Diagnostic Radiology experience.
  • Previous experience assisting with invasive cardiovascular procedures preferred.Ā

The successful candidate will:

  • Have recent Cath Lab experience in a busy acute care hospital.
  • Be confident scrubbing and assisting during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
  • Possess strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and invasive cardiac procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be comfortable participating in on-call rotations.
  • Maintain professionalism in fast-paced and emergency situations.

This job is for 4x10s 7am-5:30pm. Every 6th weekend of call is required along with a weeknight shift each week. Must be willing to work holidays as well. Must have 2+ Years of cardio Cath lab experience to be considered. 7 days max of RTO. Interview is required. Please list interview availability in the comment section.
