Description

Case Types:

General: gallbladders, appendectomies, colectomies, hernia repairs (laparoscopic and open)
Ortho: total joints (hips, knees, shoulders), sports medicine
Podiatry: toe amputation, bunionectomies, hammer toes
GYN: hysterectomies (mostly laparoscopic), tubals, hysteroscopies, DNCs
OB: C-sections (OR RNs will circulate, not LDRP RNs)
Endoscopic: colonoscopies, EGDs, bronchs. CST process the scopes
Urology: TURPs, cystos, lithotripsies, circumcisions
No robotics, high level traumas, neuro, etc.
Cases performed per day (average):
- Approximately 8-10
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- CST: BLS, CST
  
  Scheduling:
- Call requirement:
  - 4-8 call shifts per month (1630-0700 the following day)
  - 1 weekend of call per month (Friday 0700 – Monday 0700)
  - 20-minute response time
  - Guest House available for call team only if normal housing is >20 minutes away
  - If called in the night before, will try to let call team off early the following work day if possible
- weekend rotation: call only, see above
- Holiday Expectations: call only for major holidays. Staff cover most holidays, but could be on call for 1 summer/1 winter holiday
- Shift: Monday – Thursday, 0700-1630. Department closed on Fridays, call team only
