Key Notes:
- Immunizers will be responsible for administering all state-approved immunizations, including pediatric vaccinations.
- Immunizers will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (no weekends). Shifts will be 8 hours between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and have full availability during the assignment. The selected locations are among Walgreens' busiest stores, and the client is seeking 100% availability with no schedule accommodations.
- Must hold an active, unrestricted RN license in good standing.
- Must maintain an active BLS/CPR/ACLS certification for the entire duration of the contract.
- Completion of OSHA safety training is required as part of the onboarding process.
- After successfully clearing the background check, candidates will complete pre-start training, which includes policy review, immunization guidelines, and other required documentation. This training is paid, and the hours will be included in the candidate's first paycheck

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities
- A Registered Nurse is a licensed professional who provides direct and indirect patient care services to administer vaccinations as prescribed by authorized prescribers and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Walgreens, the state’s professional standards, and regulatory entities.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessment and administration of vaccinations of all patients assigned to them.
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- Demonstrates competency in patient care standards required for safe delivery of Immunizations. Will be competent in the assessment of patients via screening for immunizations complete and accurate clinical documentation.
- Manages time effectively and demonstrates basic leadership qualities in order to proactively deliver and manage appropriate patient care.
- Coordinates with Walgreens liaisons to arrive at the appropriate site for administration of vaccinations.
- Documents service provided in an acceptable time frame during or immediately after care is provided, leveraging the Vaccine Administration Record (VAR).
- Communicates changes in patient status to appropriate members of the staff to facilitate prompt attention to patient needs.
- Maximizes work efficiency through the use of computers and other technologies. Effectively uses available technology to communicate with Walgreens liaisons.
- Effectively coordinates with Walgreens liaisons during vaccination clinics.
- Participates in on-call responsibilities as assigned. Effectively communicates with agency staff, Walgreens liaisons, Long-Term Care Facility staff, patients, and families.
- Under the direction of the patient’s consent, safely administers vaccines provided in a manner consistent with established standards of practice and policy.
- Promptly communicates with patient’s physician and supervisor regarding problems, change in status, need for other team involvement, and goal attainment.
- Thoroughly reports patient's care needs, progress, and goals when transferring care to an alternate nurse.
Education, Experience & Other Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in state(s) of practice.
- Valid and current driver’s license and evidence of automobile insurance.
- Current CPR certification.
- Certified Immunizer.
- Minimum two years of experience providing specialty nursing care, such as infusion therapy, maternal-child health, disease state management, pediatrics, etc.
- In addition, at least three months’ experience working in Home Health. Self-directed with excellent time management skills and able to work independently.
- Evidence of basic leadership skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work with others and communicate effectively (verbal and oral) with team members, patients, caregivers, physicians and referral sources.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Ability to get to the job site.
