Travel Surgical Technologist (OR Tech)

Join the surgical services team at Good Shepherd Health Care System as a Travel Surgical Technologist. We're seeking an experienced scrub tech who thrives in a fast-paced operating room and is committed to providing exceptional patient care while maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique.
Schedule
- Day Shift
- 6:30 AM ā 7:00 PM
- 3x12-hour shifts
- 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Responsibilities
- Function as the primary scrub person during surgical and invasive procedures.
- Assemble and organize sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for each case.
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the surgical team by efficiently passing instruments and supplies.
- Assist with sterile draping and preparation of surgical sites.
- Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with the circulating RN.
- Prepare sterile dressings and assist with procedure completion.
- Clean surgical instruments and transport them for decontamination and sterilization.
- Turn over operating rooms between procedures to ensure readiness for subsequent cases.
- Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Participate in ongoing competency training and continuing education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current BLS Certification
- Recent Operating Room/Scrub Tech experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary surgical team
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical specialties
Additional Information
- Travelers may float to other qualified departments before core staff are floated.
- If the assignment extends beyond 6 months, completion of CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) training will be required.
