HOT JOB: INPATIENT ACUTE DIALYSIS RN – DAYS & CALL (DES MOINES, IA)

 

I am fast-tracking applications for an experienced, high-acuity Inpatient Dialysis Registered Nurse to support a multi-campus healthcare network in Des Moines, Iowa. This 13-week contract features a direct selection pipeline with fast-track phone or text interviews actively conducted!

 

POSITION QUICK-FACTS

  • Start Date: 08/03/2026 or 08/17/2026 (13 Weeks)
  • Shift Schedule: 12-Hour Day Shifts | Operating window between 07:00 AM - 19:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly
  • On-Call Mandate: Shared minimal call rotation among the nursing team:
    • Weeknights (Mon–Fri): 19:00 PM - 22:00 PM
    • Saturdays: 19:00 PM - 07:00 AM
    • Sundays: 07:00 AM - 19:00 PM or 19:00 PM - 06:00 AM
  • On-Call Financials: $9.00/hr standby rate | 1.5x Call-Back Multiplier (2-hour minimum payout)
  • Systems & Charting: Epic EMR | Remote Telemetry Monitoring
  • Holiday Obligation: Required to work 1 to 2 of the major summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.

THE CLINICAL MATRIX

  • Patient Demographics & Ratios: High-acuity 2:1 patient ratios. Care is provided to remote telemetry and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients experiencing Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) or End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
  • Equipment Framework: Highly proficient operation of Fresenius 2008T machines for Hemodialysis (Hemo) and Baxter Homechoice Claria systems for Peritoneal Dialysis (PD).
  • Float Scope [CRITICAL]: Must be fully willing to float across all regional Des Moines campuses (primarily IMMC and ILH) to support operational census.
  • Dress Code: Solid Navy Blue scrubs (traveler provided).

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)

  • Experience: Minimum 24 months (2 years) of current, dedicated Dialysis experience that explicitly includes acute inpatient hospital care [HARDSTOP].
  • Travel History: First-time travel nurses will not be accepted. Prior travel contract history is required.
  • Core Skills: Proven, hands-on experience using Fresenius 2008T machines is required. Must be independent in interpreting telemetry rhythm reads and measurements. Dual competency in both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis is highly preferred.
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted Iowa (IA) state RN license or valid multi-state Compact license must be fully verified and in-hand at the time of submission.
  • Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) BLS certification.
  • Geographic Policy: Both local and travel candidates are accepted. A strict 50-mile radius rule applies. Rate differs.

  2. Clinical Skills Checklist specific to the Dialysis discipline (completed within 1 year).

  5. Copy of your active, approved BLS certification.
  6. Preferred: One professional supervisory reference or performance evaluation from a Charge Nurse or Manager from within the last 24 months.
