🔥 HIGH-ACUITY IMC / STEPDOWN RN CONTRACT – VENT & POST-TRANSPLANT SPECIALTY
First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel opening for a highly skilled Intermediate Care (IMC) / Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) in Madison, Wisconsin. Operating within the nation-leading, Magnet-designated University Hospital network, this role spans two specialized units: the D6/5 Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and the B4/3 Thoracic unit. 💰 PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE
- Weekly Gross: $2,426.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,526.00
- Hourly W2 Rate: $25.00/hr
- Overtime Rate: $37.50/hr
📅 SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-Hours (19:00 - 07:30). Bypasses rigid block scheduling formats.
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Outstanding, tiered acuity mapping tracking at a stable 1:2 ratio for IMC-level care and 1:4 for general care needs.
- Weekend & Holiday Expectations: Rotating every other weekend coverage is mandatory to meet unit needs, alongside designated holidays.
- EMR Charting System: Epic.
- Clinical Scope & Patient Diagnoses: Comprehensive care for acutely ill adults presenting with severe hemodynamic instability and multiple comorbidities. Core patient mixes encompass high-acuity thoracic, surgical, and trauma lines, with a specialized focus on Cystic Fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, ventilators, and post-lung transplant management.
- Core Responsibilities & Infusions: Ventilator care, post-transplant care, telemetry tracking, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, titration of cardiac and insulin drips, IV insulin protocols, arterial lines, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), pre/post hemodialysis support, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring.
🚨 REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of active acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty. Must have strong, proven proficiency in vent management and post-transplant care to be considered. Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar-sized hospital is mandatory.
- Licensure: Valid Wisconsin State Nursing License or a valid Multi-State Compact RN License must be active at submission.
- Certifications Required: Active AHA ACLS and AHA BLS certifications are strictly required to clear the portal gate (AHA cards only).
- Vaccine Guidelines: Facility mandates full compliance with standard Influenza vaccination rules (approved medical or religious exemptions are accepted). COVID-19 vaccine is not required.
