Description

Join a busy Post Critical Care / Stepdown (PCU) unit in Sioux City, Iowa, caring for patients transitioning from intensive care who require close monitoring and advanced nursing care. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Stepdown, PCU, or Telemetry nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy caring for higher-acuity medical and surgical patients.

Assignment Details:

13-week travel assignment
Night Shift – 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
36 guaranteed hours per week
Every other weekend and holiday rotation
No on-call required
EMR: Epic

Patient Population Includes:

Post-ICU and stepdown patients
Cardiac monitoring/telemetry
Respiratory compromise
Sepsis
Stroke patients
CHF and COPD exacerbations
Renal disorders
Post-operative medical/surgical patients
Complex medical conditions requiring continuous monitoring

Responsibilities:

Perform comprehensive patient assessments
Interpret and monitor telemetry rhythms
Administer IV medications, cardiac drips, and other advanced therapies
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions
Maintain accurate documentation within Epic
Float within the same specialty as needed, including Emergency Department support when required

Minimum Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience Active Iowa RN License BLS (AHA) ACLS (AHA) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Traveler Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travelers should be comfortable floating within their specialty, including the Emergency Department when needed Opportunity to work up to 48 hours if available Submission Requirements Updated resume Active Iowa RN license verification Driver's License Current skills checklist (completed within the past year) One supervisory reference at the time of submission Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Local Candidate Policy Candidates must have a taxable residence more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates. Local candidates from Madison may be considered with an adjusted local pay package.
