Travel Cardiac Sonographer I $3080 (Stipend package option available to help maximize your take-home pay) | 40 hours/week
Job Details:
Position: Cardiac Sonographer
Specialty: Cardiac Sonography / Echocardiography
Schedule: Days | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Assignment: Monday–Sunday Coverage | Rotating Weekends (Every 3rd Weekend) | Holidays Required
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 3, 2026

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Sonographer performs comprehensive diagnostic echocardiographic procedures under the direction of physicians and the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology. The technologist is responsible for obtaining high-quality cardiac images, assisting physicians with advanced cardiac procedures, and ensuring accurate diagnostic testing while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Requirements:
✅ Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Sonography experience
✅ Experience performing and interpreting:
- 2D Echocardiograms
- M-Mode
- Doppler Echocardiography
✅ Current RDCS or RCS registration required
✅ BLS Certification required
✅ Completion of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program required
✅ CAAHEP-accredited Cardiac Sonography certificate program (or equivalent) required
✅ Travel experience required
Required Skills & Experience:
✅Mammography procedures
✅Breast ultrasound support
✅Bone density imaging (DEXA)
✅Breast biopsy procedures
✅Outpatient imaging services
✅Patient positioning and breast imaging techniques
✅Quality imaging practices and radiation safety standards
✅Perform and interpret diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations, including:
- M-Mode
- 2D Echocardiography
- Color Doppler
- Pulsed Wave Doppler
- Continuous Wave Doppler
- Stress Echocardiograms
- Stress Doppler Studies
- Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)
✅Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain accurate and diagnostic-quality images.
✅Perform non-invasive cardiac testing including EKGs, stress testing, and Holter monitoring.
✅Review patient clinical history to determine exam requirements and ensure appropriate imaging protocols.
✅Position patients properly and adjust equipment settings to optimize image quality.
✅Analyze images and perform complete documentation of findings.
✅Assist cardiologists with TEE procedures and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms as needed.
✅Explain procedures to patients and provide compassionate care throughout testing.
✅Maintain equipment quality and ensure compliance with hospital standards.
✅Protect patient privacy, dignity, and rights while providing care.
✅Complete documentation, reporting, and billing processes accurately and efficiently.
