Job Title: Immunizing Registered Nurse (Float) – Vaccination Initiative
Location: San Francisco, CA (Float Position)
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Contract Duration: August 19, 2026 – November 28, 2026
Schedule: Sunday – Saturday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM (Flexible scheduling required)
Work Setting: Retail Pharmacy / Community Healthcare (Onsite)
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a seasonal Vaccination Initiative as Immunizing Nurse Float. In this patient-facing role, you will administer a wide range of vaccines, including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other CDC-recommended immunizations, while delivering exceptional patient care in a retail healthcare setting.
The ideal candidate is clinically proficient, adaptable, customer-focused, and committed to promoting public health through safe and effective immunization services.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer vaccines, including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other recommended immunizations in accordance with established clinical protocols.
- Perform patient assessments and review medical history prior to vaccine administration.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunization and provide appropriate interventions when necessary.
- Educate patients regarding vaccines, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and immunization records.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and clinical compliance standards.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and store leadership to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining professionalism.
- Support multiple retail locations as required (Float role).
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization administration.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends, based on business needs.
- Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
- High School Diploma/GED (required) and completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience administering vaccines in retail, outpatient, public health, or community healthcare settings.
- Experience with high-volume vaccination clinics.
- Strong customer service and patient education skills.
- Previous experience with CVS Health or Aetna is a plus (not required).
